Teak Decks
Nautical Contracting has considerable experience in designing, manufacturing and installing teak decking on projects ranging from 60 foot power boats to super yachts and ships. Our custom decks are made to order, to the highest international standards, from quality quarter-sawn Northern Burmese teak, tested for moisture content then manufactured using Sika systems in our Auckland workshop.
Design
Each project is individually designed to suit our customer’s requirements. We listen carefully, generate a brief and then design accordingly. We take pride in our product and only use the best Burmese Teak in conjunction with Sika 290DC caulking products (Sika provide a global warranty), and the best bedding compounds.
Manufacturing
All Teak Decking is manufactured in our Auckland factory by our New Zealand trained team of tradesmen. We are working towards becoming ISO9002 certified by 2010. We register all product batch numbers, moisture content and environmental conditions which are recorded and kept on file.
Ship out
Once manufacturing is complete, a parts list is generated, all parts and consumables are checked off, and the job is packed in a certified export crate that can be shipped safely and/or stored until installation date. Your decking arrives in the shipping crate with all working AutoCAD drawings and parts lists plus all materials and consumables required for installation.
Installation
Once the decking arrives we provide full installation services using our highly recommended vacuum bagging procedure. This method of applying even, controlled pressure to securely fix each decking panel in place, means that no deck fastenings are required. Aesthetically pleasing, this also reduces vulnerability to wear, resulting in a longer lasting deck. As all decking panels are pre-assembled and pre-trimmed, installation time is kept to a minimum.
Additional Services
We can provide re-caulking and repair of existing weathered or worn teak decking, plus survey and reports for maintenance programmes or repair work. We also design and manufacture custom teak cap rails, gratings, crow’s nests and custom furniture.
